In light of the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) and FIFA subsidiary Early Warning System GmbH (EWS) have on the 11th March 2014 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to protect the integrity of football.
The agreement is based on an on-going close cooperation for the early detection of suspicious activities in sport betting which can be an indicator for match-fixing on FIFA events and other football matches. Thus, AGCC provides an important contribution to prevent betting related fraud and corruption in sport.
The cooperation agreement between AGCC and EWS includes the exchange of relevant betting information to support the analysis of odds movements, and investigations with regard to suspicious football events. To support these aims the parties have agreed on an operational framework to ensure an effective collaboration.
