There are a multitude of benefits to Cloud hosting for eGaming companies – from flexibility, security, choice and real time analytics to added certainty when it comes to start up and hosting costs.
The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) was the first regulator to put in place technical standards for cloud solutions back in 2013. Many service providers now have AGCC approved Cloud Platforms which have been tailored to the requirements of online gambling operators. Licensees can use these platforms with confidence that they meet the stringent international security requirements laid out by the AGCC’s licensing framework through its technical standards.
The AGCC technical standards and guidelines for eGaming Cloud cover the use of Cloud systems for game play and financial and registration processes where personal or financial information is being handled. Therefore, operators undertaking this kind of activity over the cloud will require their cloud-based service to be approved by the AGCC. Licensees are utilising many mainstream cloud services also for other types of data.
Category 2 Associate Certificate holders have the option of applying for cloud service approval through their standard gambling equipment approval process, with no need for a separate application from their cloud service partner. The cloud service provider can alternatively apply for a hosting certificate directly from the AGCC.
